December 22, 2006: The new Bead and Button is here! I was stuck in the Denver Airport's "storm of the decade" with the rest of the holiday travelers. After three days longer in Denver than I had anticipated, my spirits were not exactly festive. I experienced "Altitude sickness" and was feeling pretty miserable. On Friday, I checked my email and found a note from Barbara Simon, an amazing jewelry artist who work has been frequently published and is truly a pinoeer. That was the first clue that the magazine was out. My spirits soared. The sun came out over Denver. The runway was cleared, I was able to get home! All because of that email! Immediately I made a long distance call to my buddy Debbie, my good friend who has made Mona in both matte beads and in shiny beads (beautiful!). Poor Debbie is spending the holidays with a badly broken leg, bless her heart. It was great to be able to share my joy with her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she's healing. I suspect that she'll have lots of time to bead. If you see the magazine, drop me note. Take care, Diana November, 2006: Some folks, including my brother Don, wonder about the name of my website. Raggedy Animosity began when I started wondering what would happen if one of America's sweetheart dolls- you know her, the gal with the yarn hair and the striped socks, met up with another American favorite, this one from the bayou country. The problem, Don points out, is spelling the whole long name. Spelling, you see, is a problem with some of the members of our family. 3 out of the 5 original D.Gehrigs rely heavily on Spell Check. And we know who are. Don, or Don-boy as I call him, is also an artist. He is more automotively inclined. You can see his little bitty perfect cars on Ebay. One of his best ones is the Aston Martin, especially since he now knows how to spell it. One of his all time favorite cars was his grandmother's Blue Valiant. In fact, Don is driving one now. It's his favorite 1970's classic. He has a chicken painted on the hood, almost like the Trans Am bird. He's my brother, a little strange but I love him.
